In February 2023 my two teenage daughters and I had the very fortunate opportunity to experience our first Hot Air Balloon ride in Siem Reap Cambodia.

The morning started before sunrise as we made our way to a designated meet site. We watched on with nervous energy as the balloon was filled with gas. Once ready to go our Canadian Pilot ran us through the safety instructions before we jumped into the basket for the 45 minute experience of a lifetime.
The weather was pristine as we set off to the sound of gas being pumped into the balloon and we rose up over the temples and rice paddies of Siem Reap. For the next 45 minutes, in near silence we witnessed first hand the beauty of Cambodia and Siem Reap’s magnificent countryside.
Landing in an open field with hundreds of locals running to see exactly what this strange flying object was, capped off what was a phenomenal adventure.
To anyone who has the opportunity to fly with Cambodia Balloons I can not speak more highly of the professionalism, management and beauty that we experienced. Do yourself and favor you’re visiting Siem Reap and take the trip of a lifetime….you won’t regret it!!!

I just wanted to say a big thank you for the incredible time I had during my hot air balloon ride over Siem Reap. For me the whole experience was like a dream come true. I had never imagined that floating up in the air while looking down at the beautiful landscapes of Siem Reap would be so magical. I’ll never forget the way the sun rose and painted the sky with its beautiful colors. It was a unique experience to see Siem Reap from up high. The breathtaking view of Angkor Wat and everything around made me feel a deeper connection to the history and culture of the place.

It was a great experience for me, and my first time with a hot air balloon ride. Before riding the hot air balloon I assumed that it was the balloon with strings and we can ride up and pulled down with the string. But it was totally different. I first saw the stripe with no air, and the team put the fire to burn the air to make it lighter so that we can fly. I was so nervous and panic when the pilot regulate the hot air balloon with sound and heat. However I feel happy and more confidence later and enjoy it very much. It was different from what I thought, it is safe from the take off to the landing.
